Introducing the six week bride: wedding planning for Laura and Stefan in just six weeks

I had the absolute pleasure of coordinating Laura and Stefan’s wedding at Cooper’s Farm Tipis — a venue that is particularly special to me because it’s where I got married myself in 2024.

And the key part? I worked with Laura to plan the whole thing… in just six weeks.

Laura and Stefan live in America, so planning a wedding here in the UK came with a few extra challenges. Finding suppliers, arranging calls, getting quotes, making decisions and keeping everything moving is difficult enough when you’re in the same time zone - let alone when you’re in a different continent.

That’s where I came in.

From “We’re getting married!” to “Let’s make it happen”

When Laura got in touch, we had just six weeks to pull everything together.

There was no time to spend months scrolling through suppliers, waiting for replies or wondering whether someone was the right fit. We needed to make decisions, get things booked and keep everything moving.

We worked closely together throughout the planning process, with Laura knowing exactly what she wanted while trusting me to take care of the practicalities and supplier communication.

I sourced and booked:

• Daytime music

• The evening DJ

• Food and catering for the day

• Floristry

• An audio guest book and selfie pod

Alongside finding the suppliers, I liaised with them throughout the planning process, coordinated the different moving parts and made sure everyone had the information they needed.

For Laura and Stefan, it meant they could enjoy the exciting parts of planning their wedding without having to spend their evenings chasing suppliers from the other side of the Atlantic.

The wedding day

After six weeks of planning, it was time to move everything over from spreadsheets and supplier emails to the actual wedding day.

Laura and Stef chose to book me for the day itself too, to coordinate everything with our fab suppliers, oversee the setup and keep the day running smoothly.

That meant Laura and Stefan didn't need to be checking the clock, answering supplier questions or wondering whether everything was happening behind the scenes. They could enjoy their big day with their loved ones.

Laura and Stefan were honestly the most incredible couple to work with.

They were so trusting, so lovely and so much fun throughout the whole process, which made planning their wedding such a pleasure.

And they were so happy with how everything came together on the day.

They even joked that perhaps I should just rebrand completely…as The 6 Week Bride.

We cannot recommend Emily at The 6 Month Bride highly enough!

The unfortunate health circumstances of the mother of the bride led us to rethink our wedding plans and ultimately come to the conclusion that we needed to arrange something within the next 2–3 months. It didn’t take us long to find our dream venue and, luckily, we were able to secure a last-minute date for our wedding reception in England. We then had just six weeks to plan everything. To make things even more challenging, we now live 3,000 miles away in the USA.

What could have been an incredibly stressful and overwhelming process was made so easy thanks to our amazing wedding planner, Emily. Despite the ridiculously short timeframe and the distance between us, Emily pulled everything together beautifully- music, food, décor, florist and photobooth! She helped with our itinerary and kept in touch with all the vendors. We never had to chase Emily once. She was constantly one step ahead, keeping everything moving and making sure nothing was forgotten, making the whole process such a breeze.

Many of our guests have since commented on how lovely and fantastic Emily was, making sure everyone was taken care of and seeing to any additional requests, from food to wheelchair access and everything in between.

There was not one moment during those six weeks of planning when we were worried about anything. Even on the day, we were able to relax in the morning knowing we just had to turn up!

What Laura and Stef's wedding taught me

Laura and Stefan’s wedding was the perfect reminder that wedding planning doesn’t have to be stressful just because you’re working to a shorter timeline.

In six weeks, we found and booked the suppliers, made all the important decisions, organised the details and brought everything together into a wedding that felt completely personal to them.

Laura and Stefan may have given me a new challenge with their six-week wedding, but they also proved something I really believe:
